Evening Entertainment

Saturday 21st April-York 

If you are visiting our Festival of Vintage for the whole weekend then you might want to join us on Saturday 21st April at one of our live evening entertainment options.  These  2 themed evening options are very popular with Festival goers, so if you fancy a 40 themed dance or a 20's Themed speakeasy then why not join us. See the details below and how to purchase tickets.

Spaces are limited and previous evening do's have always been a sell out in advance. Vintage attire recommended, dance skills not required! These are separate ticketed events held at venues within York in addition to any daytime Festival ticket options purchased for events 10-5pm at the Racecourse.

Option 1

1940's Swing Dance with The Kalamazoo Dance Band

At the De Grey Rooms, St. Leonards Place, York YO1 7HD

8pm-Midnight, Licensed Bar 

Tickets £16 per person

Festival of Vintage presents….1940’s Swing Dance with The Kalamazoo Dance Band

Featuring music from Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw & Duke Ellington as well as a superb selection of swing numbers to get you swinging’ and steppin’ out. They will also teach you some dance styles to really get you all ‘In the Mood’ - The Kalamazoo Dance Band - presenting in U.S. Army Air Force uniforms is an extremely popular band playing across the UK, Europe and Middle East at numerous events and vintage festivals and we are delighted to have them with us for this fabulous swing dance.

Speakeasy Cabaret Evening with 

52 Skidoo & DJ A-Train Swing

At the Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, York, YO23 1BW

8pm-Midnight, Licensed Bar 

Tickets £16 per person

Festival of Vintage presents….A Speakeasy Cabaret Evening with 52 Skidoo a three piece Harlem swing band perform music born out of the stride piano style made famous by James P. Johnson and Fats Waller.  With a  line up of Tommy Valentine on vocals and guitar, Howard ‘Dancing Bear’ Jacobs on percussion and clarinet with Henry ‘JJ’ Botham on stride piano. An evening of live music, mayhem and mischief. Plus A-Train swing will be kicking off the evening and filling in between by playing a great selection of 20's & 30's foot tapping tunes.
