The Workshops are FREE but must be booked in advance.The workshop are located on the Ground Floor of the Vintage Arcade. Please sign in when you arrive. Space is limited. 1 workshop per person per day.

Vintage Hair Fascinator 10.45am-11.30am

Don’t worry if you haven’t found the perfect hairpiece or hat for this year’s festival, how about learning to make your own? Rummage through vintage flowers, feathers, buttons, lace and fabric to sculpt your own unique hair fascinator.

Hand Embroidery Taster 12noon till 12.45pm

Learn how to embroider quotes and poems onto beautiful vintage linens and fabrics to create heart warming wall pieces or even a quirky brooch pin. Rummage through scrummy button jars and baskets of beautiful braids to embellish and decorate your masterpiece!

Needle & Pin Case/Powder Compact Mirror Case 1.30pm-2.15pm

Create a perfect little case to keep your “pins and things” all-neat and tidy. Or how about using the case to keep your vintage powder compact or mirror all safe and sound? Learn the basics in machine sewing and hand stitching here, then decorate to your hearts content with beautiful vintage trims and buttons.

Vintage Textile Jewellery 2.45pm-3.30pm

Rummage through reams of vintage fabrics and buttons and learn how to sculpt beautiful fabric flowers, rosettes and ruffles to make lovely vintage posies to adorn your vintage cardy and froc! Warning these flowers are addictive! Take away all the skills needed to then make necklaces, collars all sorts!

Vintage Patchwork Quilt Taster 4pm-4.45pm

Wind down and rest your feet after an exciting day of vintage shopping, music and dancing with a nice gentle bit of hand sewing! This session will give you the basics in template cutting and constructing a traditional hand stitched “Hexagon” Patchwork Quilt or a “Suffolk Puff” Quilt. Then with a lot of hard work and dedication in a few years you will have a beautiful family heirloom blanket!
